A moving machine axis depends on hundreds of components working together. But cables and hoses are often overlooked. Without the right cable carrier drag chain, cables can twist, rub, break, and cause unexpected machine downtime. Choosing the wrong size, bend radius, or installation method can shorten cable life dramatically.
A cable carrier drag chain protects and guides moving cables and hoses on a CNC or automation axis, and most early failures trace back to four install decisions — how full the chain is packed, whether bend radius respects the cables inside it (not just the chain itself), whether cable types are separated, and how much of the run is left unsupported.
A linear shaft rod is a round, heat-treated shaft that guides motion in combination with a sliding or rolling bearing block, either mounted unsupported at both ends or backed along its length by a supported rail such as SBR or TBR. Which one you need depends on how much the shaft deflects across its span under load — not on price alone.
